Hey all. I was trying to think of ideas and such and I remembered a while ago General Catherine had starting a little campaign called "Not Nielsen." I've noticed there has been very little activity on that site, and I feel that a revival is in order. I think a major thing we need to focus on is letting NBC know that people are watching, and that the Nielsen system is not doing a good job at representing that. My idea is letting NBC know directly--through email, twitter, snail mail, everything--that we are watching our beloved show and don't feel represented by this archaic system. We could tweet simple things to @nbc and @nbccommunity. Such as "I #WatchCommunity and am not represented by Nielsen" or on Thursdays/Fridays say "I [am] watching/ed Community tonight and I don't have a Nielsen box" etcetera (pronounced the way Prof. Professerson does). I'm sure you smarter people and higher ranking #CommunityWarriors can think of ways to refine this idea. For Greendale. I love the idea. We are not defined by Nielsen ratings. We are human beings who love good TV. I'm in.

Nice idea.
Did you take a look at the uncounted community board? We're doing a similar thing by tweeting the advertisers after (or during, whatever you want) each episode, and thanking them for supporting community. And we're including #UncountedCommunity to say we're not Nielsen.

I think these are two separate things: 1) #NotNielsen for ranting against the machine all the time, and 2) #UncountedCommunity for tweeting the ad sponsors later tonight.
Is that correct, Ferret?

Yes. They are indeed connected, and the tweeting to ad sponsors is great, but #NotNielsen is more of letting nbc know directly that we are watching and we are not done RAGING AGAINST THE MACHINE!!

So I think simply tweeting at NBC that we're watching is an easy first step. It's kinda short notice for tonight's episode. But we can start spreading the word around so that next week NBC gets pretty much spammed with tweets from Community watchers.
And it doesn't have to be angry or any such thing. Just today I tweeting at them saying "@nbc Hey there, peacock. Just wanted to let you know I'll be watching @nbccommunity tonight and am not represented by Nielsen."
